Vivo has officially unveiled its new X300 and X300 Pro flagship smartphones, which showcase significant advancements, especially in their imaging capabilities, drawing parallels to the company's more premium Ultra series. Both new models emphasize camera performance and are powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset, signifying Vivo's ambition to deliver high-end features at a more accessible price point.
On October 13, 2025, Vivo introduced the X300 and X300 Pro, marking a pivotal moment in smartphone photography. The X300 Pro's camera system, developed in partnership with Samsung, features a 200-megapixel HPB imaging sensor, mirroring the telephoto excellence of the X200 Ultra. Its main camera may even surpass the Ultra, employing Sony's advanced LYT-828 sensor with a wider aperture. Both phones support the unique 2.35x snap-on telephoto extender lens, originally exclusive to the X200 Ultra, which significantly enhances long-range photography. This accessory can be purchased separately or as part of a Photography Kit that includes a mounting case and a battery-equipped camera grip.
The standard X300 also impresses with its camera setup, utilizing the 200-megapixel Samsung sensor for its primary lens, coupled with a fast f/1.68 aperture. Both models feature identical 50-megapixel ultrawide and front-facing cameras. Beyond photography, these devices share several high-end specifications, including 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, IP68 and IP69 durability ratings, and integrated ultrasonic fingerprint sensors. The X300 Pro features a 6.78-inch display, while the more compact X300 has a 6.31-inch screen, with both maintaining a slim profile under 8mm thick. Vivo also highlights the efficiency of its silicon-carbon batteries (6,510mAh in the Pro and 6,040mAh in the standard model), claiming they offer the longevity of larger 7,500mAh and 7,000mAh cells, respectively. Currently available for order in China, the X300 starts at approximately 0 (¥4,399), and the Pro at around 5 (¥5,299). Both run on Vivo's new OriginOS 6, a customized Android interface, which is expected to replace Funtouch OS in international markets.
Vivo's launch of the X300 and X300 Pro underscores a significant industry trend: the democratization of high-end camera technology. By integrating advanced features previously reserved for its Ultra models into more accessible flagships, Vivo challenges competitors to innovate further. This move not only benefits consumers by making premium photography more attainable but also fosters a healthy competitive environment that drives overall progress in smartphone capabilities. The commitment to enhance user experience with the new OriginOS 6 further solidifies Vivo's position as a key player in the global smartphone market.
