Millennial Entrepreneurs: 4 Financial Policies We Want Under a Trump Administration

Millennial Entrepreneurs Seek Crypto-Friendly Policies and Tax Relief Under a Trump Administration

Millennials, a generation navigating significant life milestones, face unique financial challenges amplified by inflation and economic uncertainty. As millennial entrepreneurs strive to build their businesses, they seek policies that address their specific needs, including easing regulations, improving access to financial tools, and reducing taxes for small enterprises. In this article, we delve into the key policy proposals that millennial entrepreneurs hope to see implemented under a potential Trump administration.

Unleashing Entrepreneurial Potential Through Regulatory Relief and Crypto Accessibility

Easing the Regulatory Burden

Millennial entrepreneurs have been hit hard by the pandemic and high inflation, which have significantly impacted their earning power. Brenda Christensen, a self-made millionaire and CEO of Stellar Public Relations, believes that a Trump presidency could potentially reduce inflation by easing regulations on businesses, allowing the savings to be passed on to consumers. Christensen, who has worked with Trump while representing The Taubman Company, notes that his previous administration's policies reduced burdens on businesses by eliminating taxes and loosening FINRA (Financial Industry Regulation Authority) rules. These measures benefited not only the tech sector and venture capital funding but also contributed to overall economic growth.

Decentralizing the Financial System and Embracing Crypto

Rebecca Liao, the CEO of Saga and a former member of Hillary Clinton's foreign policy team responsible for Asia trade and economic policy, argues that the current financial system is too centralized and costly for a significant portion of the population, particularly millennials and Gen Z. Many of them are employed in part-time or gig jobs that do not offer 401(k)s and other automated investment systems for their retirement, and they often do not contribute to Roth IRAs. Liao believes that one of the financial policies Trump could implement is regulation that makes it easier to access financial and investing tools, including crypto. She sees crypto as a tool for decentralizing the economy and providing fairer, more readily available access to novel financial products, which could experience greater upside potential, albeit with more volatility. Ensuring a crypto-friendly regulatory environment would be a significant step in the right direction, according to Liao and other experts.

Nurturing Consumer Sector Entrepreneurs

Nick Gausling, a millennial entrepreneur, consumer sector consultant, and managing director of Romy Group, highlights that many millennial entrepreneurs operate in the consumer sector, but the American consumer is "close to tapped out." Gausling believes that Trump reviving the "No Tax on Tips" proposal pioneered by Ron Paul could be a significant win for these entrepreneurs. Ending taxation on tips would provide a direct stimulus for many service workers, especially those in lower tax brackets. Since every service worker is also a consumer, this stimulus would spill over and improve revenues for businesses across the consumer sector. Gausling also suggests that this policy could bring new innovation in labor modeling and better customer service, as entrepreneurs may combine lower base wages with lower retail prices, ultimately yielding higher net income for service workers, better customer experiences at lower costs, and increased sales and customer retention for entrepreneurs.

Reducing Taxes for Small Businesses

Adam, the CEO of Ferrari Phoenix Capital Group, notes that Trump could introduce several policies to benefit millennial entrepreneurs, with a focus on reducing taxes for small businesses. Lowering corporate tax rates, as seen during Trump's first term, can free up capital that entrepreneurs can reinvest into their businesses, whether for hiring, expanding operations, or investing in new technologies. In conclusion, millennial entrepreneurs seek a comprehensive approach to supporting their businesses and financial well-being. From easing regulations and improving access to financial tools, including crypto, to nurturing consumer sector entrepreneurs and reducing taxes for small businesses, the policy proposals outlined in this article reflect the specific needs and aspirations of this dynamic generation of business leaders.
